Case Management

Experienced speech and language therapy input for case managers, solicitors, insurers and multidisciplinary teams - with over 25 years' clinical practice.

Overview

What is speech and language therapy in case management?

After a serious injury, illness or neurological event, communication and swallowing difficulties can shape almost every part of a person's daily life - their independence, relationships, employment, wellbeing and engagement with rehabilitation. Speech and language therapy is a core part of most rehabilitation packages and is frequently central to a case manager's clinical picture.

Cornwall Speech Therapy works closely with case managers, deputies, solicitors and insurers to provide skilled, evidence-based assessment, treatment and reporting - always with the client's goals, dignity and quality of life at the centre.

TBI Case Management & MDT Working

Traumatic brain injury (TBI) and other acquired brain injuries frequently affect communication, cognition and swallowing - often in ways that are subtle, fluctuating and easily missed without specialist assessment. Claire works as an active member of multidisciplinary rehabilitation teams to identify these needs early and translate them into practical, achievable goals.

Cognitive-communication

Attention, memory, processing speed, executive function and social communication after brain injury.

Aphasia & dysarthria

Language, word-finding and speech clarity - assessment, therapy and functional strategies.

Dysphagia

Swallowing assessment, IDDSI-aligned recommendations and support for safer mealtimes.

Goal-setting & rehab planning

SMART, client-led goals that feed directly into the wider rehabilitation programme.

Support worker training

Bespoke coaching so the day-to-day team can carry strategies into every session and shift.

Family & network support

Guidance for partners, parents and colleagues on communicating with the person you love.
