Working together

Trusted partners

Cornwall Speech Therapy (CSLT Ltd) works closely with a small, carefully chosen network of consultants, therapists and clinics across Cornwall. Joined-up care means better outcomes - and far less for clients and families to coordinate themselves.

How we work together

A joined-up team around you

Each of the professionals below has an established working relationship with Cornwall Speech Therapy. Where it would help, and always with your consent, we can make an introduction, share relevant findings and coordinate goals so that everyone involved in your care is working towards the same outcome.

Professor Tan logo

Professor Tan

Consultant ENT Surgeon - Duchy Hospital, Truro

Voice, airway and swallowing problems often need both a medical diagnosis and hands-on therapy. Professor Tan is a Consultant Ear, Nose and Throat surgeon working at the Duchy Hospital in Truro, providing laryngeal examination, videostroboscopy and specialist ENT opinion for clients with hoarseness, vocal fold changes, globus sensation and swallowing difficulty.

Where a client needs an ENT opinion before or during voice therapy, we can support a smooth onward referral and - with the client's consent - share therapy findings and goals so that medical and therapeutic input pull in the same direction. It means fewer repeated conversations, quicker clarity about diagnosis, and a therapy plan built on a properly examined larynx.

Blue Star Neuro Rehab logo

Blue Star Neuro Rehab

Neurological Physiotherapy & Occupational Therapy

Blue Star Neuro Rehab provides specialist neurological physiotherapy and occupational therapy for adults living with stroke, traumatic brain injury, Parkinson's and other long-term neurological conditions. Their work spans mobility, posture, upper limb function, fatigue management and the practical business of daily living at home and in the community.

Communication, swallowing, posture and breath support are deeply connected, so joint working genuinely changes outcomes. We regularly coordinate goals with their team - aligning seating and postural work with safe swallowing, and pairing breath support and endurance work with voice and speech targets - as part of a single, coherent rehabilitation plan for the client and their family.

KerAir Respiratory Physiotherapy

Specialist Respiratory Physiotherapy

KerAir provides specialist respiratory physiotherapy - airway clearance, secretion management, breathing pattern retraining and cough support - for adults and children with chronic chest conditions or a weak, ineffective cough following neurological illness or injury.

For clients with dysphagia, an effective cough and a clear chest are a vital safety net. We work closely with KerAir so that swallowing recommendations, positioning, oral care and airway clearance sit together in one plan, reducing chest infection risk and giving clients the confidence to keep eating and drinking as safely and enjoyably as possible.

Lara Garzón Carretero logo

Lara Garzón Carretero

Respiratory Physiotherapist - KerAir

Lara is a specialist respiratory physiotherapist at KerAir, working with breathlessness, chronic cough, breathing pattern disorders and airway clearance. Her practice is detailed, patient and highly individualised, with a strong emphasis on teaching people techniques they can carry on using independently at home.

Breath is the engine of the voice, so Lara's work dovetails naturally with voice therapy and neurological rehabilitation. Where a client's voice, cough or swallow is being limited by breath support or breathing pattern, joint input means techniques are taught consistently and reinforced in both sets of sessions rather than pulling in different directions.
